The practice of making offerings is one of the main practices of Buddhism, and is extremely rich in meaning and benefits.
These offerings are made to the Buddha, not to ask for a favor, but solely to honor and pay homage to him. This has a very profound meaning, as it is a gesture of humility, faith, and sharing.
Each bowl is used to hold different offerings. There are 7 of them:

-a container with perfumed water (essential oil or rose petals, for example).
-a bowl of rice.

-a bowl with some food (sounds dry... not fresh produce that expires too quickly).

These offerings should be placed at the feet of a Buddha statue.
