Unakite is a variety of granite characterized by its composition of pink orthoclase, green epidote, and quartz, which is mostly colorless. It exists in many shades of green and pink, with irregularly shaped crystals.

Chemically speaking, unakite consists of calcium aluminum iron silicate. Depending on its quality, unakite can be considered a gemstone. With its unique colors, it is often used in jewelry and crafts to make ornamental and decorative objects. Unakite has a monoclinic crystal system and a density of 3.4. It is a fairly hard stone with a hardness of 6 to 7 on the Mohs scale.

The most notable deposits of unakite are found mainly in the United States, but also in some countries such as Sierra Leone or South Africa, France, Austria, Brazil and China.
