Pinolita
Properties of pinolite
Pinolite, also known as pinolite, is a rare semi-precious stone. It is a metamorphic rock composed of white crystalline magnesite in a matrix of gray graphite and dolomite. The striking combination of gray and white explains much of the stone's appeal, especially after polishing, which reveals the splendor of its natural patterns.
Pinolite has a hardness of 3.5 to 4.5 on the Mohs scale. And to date, there is only one deposit in the world where this stone can be mined: the Hohentauern Sunken Magnesite Deposit in Austria.
History of Pinolita
Pinolite is a relatively "young" stone, having been discovered in 1873 in the Austrian region of Styria. It owes its name to magnesite inclusions that resemble pine cones or pine nuts, and the word "pinolite" literally means "pine stone." The rarity of pinolite and its recent discovery mean that no history or legend associated with it is known. However, experts report that the stone was extensively mined during World War II for its high manganese content.

Benefits of pinolite
The therapeutic use of pinolite is especially indicated in cases of severe fatigue and exhaustion, both physical and mental. The stone is very effective in promoting deep, restorative sleep, helping the body to recover optimally from overexertion. Pinolite may also help stimulate neurons and memory.
On a psychological level, pinolite is a calming stone often used to stabilize the aura and prevent the dissipation of the body's energies. For some, it is the most appropriate stone for reducing feelings of loneliness and anxiety.
Pinolite is also a very suitable stone for channeling and calming anger and excessive emotions. It provides strength and stability, both emotional and physical. These virtues promote inner peace and facilitate meditation and relaxation of the mind.

On a karmic level, pinolite appears to be beneficial to all chakras, as it controls and channels the flow of vertical energies from the earth to the heavens. Pinolite is also a suitable stone for the astrological signs of Cancer, Aquarius, Capricorn, and Sagittarius.
Purifying pinolite is done simply by placing it under running water. To recharge it, a few hours of exposure to sunlight inside an amethyst geode should restore the stone to its full potency.
